About Punjabi Kutub Khana
پنجابی کتب خانہ Punjabi Kutub Khana is a free digital library of Punjabi literature written in Shahmukhi. Walk through its halls, pick a book off the shelf, and read it in your browser.
Generations of Punjabi poetry, qisse and scholarship were printed in Shahmukhi, from the Sufi poets to the lithograph presses of old Lahore and Amritsar. Many of those books now survive in only a few libraries, or on crumbling paper in family collections. This library gathers them in one place, so anyone in Punjab or anywhere in the world can read them, for free.
To the Panjab Digital Library, Maktabah.org, Internet Archive, and the scholars and volunteers whose editions and scans make this library possible, including Dr. Faqir Muhammad Faqir.
Want to suggest a book, share a scan from your family’s collection, or report a problem with a book? Email contact@punjabikutubkhana.org. If you hold the rights to a book here and want it removed, write to us and it will be taken down promptly.
